Overview

Morocco – This is a unique adventure in which we will take you with our local, best guide, fluent in Polish! We will see the High Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and enter the oriental world of Moroccan cities, villages and markets. We will learn about the life of the Berbers – the indigenous desert population and we will experience off-roading in the Sahara, during which we will travel together part of the original route of the famous Paris-Dakar rally.

Tour Plan

After arriving in Agadir, we will go to the hotel where, after checking in, we will be able to rest and refresh ourselves after the trip, and then we will go for a walk around this unique city. This will be our first encounter with oriental Moroccan culture - a perfect welcome to Morocco.

After breakfast we set off. Our goal today is to spend the night in a desert camp on Erg Chegaga, and there will be many adventures and attractions along the way:

  • Taliouine - we will visit the Anti-Atlas Mountains, an extremely picturesque mountain range with palm forests, interesting rock formations and charming lakes. Additionally, we will learn how saffron, the most expensive spice in the world, is produced and we will take part in a tasting of energizing saffron tea, which will give us strength for the rest of the day,
  • Forum Zguid - we will visit a Berber village and a green valley of palm trees
  • We will drive through the desert dunes, covering the southern section of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally, take a look at the "Arizona landscapes", with characteristic cacti, and traverse the bottom of the dried-up Lake Iriki.
  • After reaching the desert camp, we will have fun and relax around the bonfire, accompanied by locals singing and drums. It's the perfect time to look at the sky! There is no such beautiful and starry sky anywhere else, we guarantee it!
  • Sunrise in the desert! It is worth getting up in the morning to admire the sun emerging from behind the horizon and the light show that accompanies it.
  • Dune drive and picnic lunch in the middle of the Sahara (probably the most desolate place in the world you will eat)
  • For those interested - a camel ride at sunset like a traveling caravan
  • Overnight in a camp in the desert.

After breakfast, we leave the desert village and continue our journey.

  • We go again along the southern section of the Paris Dakar rally route and reach the village of Mahamid, located on the border with Algeria.
  • we visit Wadi Draa, a beautiful and picturesque river valley, partly running along the border with Algeria. Wadi Draa is famous for its breathtaking views and raw rock formations, but it is known primarily for the many fortified defensive complexes towering over it, called kasbahs.
  • Zagora - a city located on the route of ancient caravans, the so-called "desert gate"
  • Ouarzazate - called Moroccan Hollywood and considered one of the best tourist destinations in Morocco. This is where the famous Atlas film studio is located, where many hit productions were shot, including: Gladiator, Game of Thrones, The Hills Have Eyes, Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, The Mummy, Kingdom of Heaven.
  • Aït  Ben-Haddou - a fortified settlement, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  • Overnight in Ouarzazate or Aït  Ben-Haddou.
  • Atlas Mountains - a breathtaking route stretching through passes between the Atlas peaks.
  • Marrakesh - the symbol of Morocco - the most colorful and popular city of this country. Its center consists of the Medina - the old city - and Jemaa el-Fna Square, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and in this area there is the largest mosque of this city - the Koutoubia Mosque.   Jemaa el-Fna is the largest Moroccan bazaar, which becomes bustling with life especially after dark. Here we can meet musicians, snake charmers, and local craftsmen with their products. This is where we can taste real local cuisine, drink the best freshly squeezed fruit juices and buy aromatic spices and pressed oils with amazing properties. The bustle of this square remains in our travel memories forever.
  • Overnight in Marrakech.
  • Along the way, we will see a plantation of argan trees, i.e. Moroccan gold, and visit a women's cooperative of argan oil, where we will see the process of obtaining this health-promoting substance. It is women who press oil and play a key role here, because some technological stages are still not mechanized.
